Gotrax GKS Kids Electric Scooter Hybrid Kick Scooter

Out of all my years of researching and sampling kids and adult scooters, I can’t wait to get my hands on the Gotrax GKS Electric hybrid kick scooter for kids. I was always told that electric scooters should not be used as kick scooters because the motors would be destroyed. This one blew my mind. Kids start scooting by using it as a kick scooter and then activate the electric motor by pressing the rear activation button. The rider can accelerate up to 7.5 miles per hour, which I think is the perfect cruising speed when on a kick or electric scooter. Kid’s scooters that travel faster than that could be hazardous.

Gotrax offers this model in 4 different colors; black, green, blue, and pink. While the green one caught my attention at first, I’ll be ordering the blue one. And while I am very tempted to ride this one, I don’t think it will handle my 175 pounds of weight. It can hold up to 155 pounds and since my 3 boys are well under this weight they’ll have no issues riding it. Gotrax offers an adult electric scooter which I may consider also. But we’ll see. I generally avoid electric scooters due to their high cost and the possibilities of mechanical failures. My own brand, Slick Scoots offers a kid/teen/adult air tire kick scooter which offers the ride of an electric scooter but is powered by the good old fashion leg. If you’ve been on my site, you know that I do not review electric scooters. I’m making an exception for this one as it does seem to be a hybrid kick scooter. We’ll see what my boys think!
